SAMosaic

My 9-year old, Sam, has been working on an art class assignment for the past few weeks. It entails tearing up construction paper into teeny, tiny pieces and gluing them on an enlarged photo of himself to make a mosaic work of art. It has been an interesting process to watch. He has spent literally dozens of hours on this project, at home, at school, at MAC after school...and it is finally done! He's so relieved, and I'm so proud of his dedication and meticulous effort to do a good job.

The interesting thing about this mosaic is it takes lots of tiny pieces to make the whole picture come together. Sam has so many fun parts of his personality that make him who he is. He's got a great sense of humor, a contagious laugh, a helpful spirit, a sneaky side, a brilliance in video games, a protective and caring way with his nephews, a love of music, and as the youngest of four he can be a real scrapper in a dogfight! He's just a great kid, and brings much joy to our family. I'm so glad he shares all those parts of his personality with us.
