SUPER 16!!

Hard to believe it, but  Grayson turned 16 on Sunday, July 8th. Randi's boys were staying with us at the time, and Randi came over Saturday and we all went to Pancho's for dinner. Of course, Grayson had to wear the BIRTHDAY SOMBRERO!!  He said, "Mom, I've spent like SIX of my birthdays in this sombrero!"  Okay, maybe we go to Pancho's a lot...but what better way to celebrate good times?!

We did presents Saturday night, because we had a very full Sunday...!

The COOLEST part of turning 16 was that Grayson became a Priest, and on his actual 16th birthday. It was neat to be there for that ordination.

Sunday night, between church meetings and a youth fireside, we had the Bennetts come over for cake & ice cream. Grayson's ALMOST done with his Eagle Scout, so he may actually start driving and dating before he turns 17!

And somewhere in the netherlands of NEBRASKA, another kiddo was having a big birthday!
Colton also turned FIVE on July 8th!

AND...Grandma Dove had a birthday on the SAME DAY! But she was gone to Arizona with her friend of 40 years, Rozella Leonard. They had their own party there, I'm sure! I'll have to get some photos of their celebration...!

Happy 4th of July!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this photo!

We went to the church, as traditional, and watched the FIREWORKS across Mack Hatcher bypass as they shot up behind Franklin High School. We took a cooler and enjoyed watermelon, strawberries, and cherries -- and maybe some chocolate, I'm not sure.  The little boys had a great time! They had been looking forward to it all week...the grass was soooo dry, it was stiff and prickly! We really needed some rain...

Hate that this photo is blurry, but it's too cute not to post.

And we love these photos of our little FIRECRACKERS in Nebraska!!

To Grammy's House We Go!

Randi's boys, Andrew, Cielo and Bryson came and stayed with us for a week!  The boys were SOOO excited when we picked them up!!

BEDTIME STORIES...

Playing games, doing Scooby Doo "Search" and watching movies...!

Early one morning, when it was only in the 90's (before it got HOT!) we went to our favorite, Pinkerton Park, and played at Tinkerbell Playground, and then the bigger toys! Steve actually helped build this park about 20+ years ago, and we loved taking our BIG kids, then our LITTLE kids, and now our GRANDkids there! It was REALLY, REALLY hot, but we enjoyed as much as we could stand...

Sam Builds A Boat

As part of Scout Camp this year (Sam's first OFFICIAL campout as a 12-year old scout), they had teams of younger boys from different wards and stakes competing in building a boat that would float out of materials at the camp. The boys used coolers rods, sticks, rope, etc.

The other boys in Sam's group were: Tyler Nabrotzky, Spencer Bennett, Antwain Gentry, Aamon Paturno, Liam Collins and Danny Williamson III. The four ON the boat were Sam, Spencer, Tyler and a visiting scout - name unknown.

Sam's team won several prizes, including 1) Highest # of People on Boat[4], 2) Best Original Design, and 3) WINNER of the RACE!! (This was the first time one group earned ALLL possible points in all areas!)

"TOASTING" their victory with their oars made out of sticks, rope and bucket pieces!
