Sam was involved in Moore Elementary School's "Jump Rope for Heart" program yesterday, which culminated several weeks of early morning practices (which he didn't even complain about! Let's hope it's the same when he's in early morning seminary...)
The school does a fundraiser for the American Heart Assoc. based on the kids' jumping, but the program yesterday was just for performance. I was very proud of Sam, and his ability to get out there and do his thing. He did it last year as a 3rd grader, and did a good job too, but you could tell he's more mature and accomplished this year. He was doing turns, "double unders," shooting baskets while jumping and lots of cool stuff!
This kid loves to run. For example, over the holidays he got stir crazy and ran around the staircase in the center of our house (through the kitchen, dining room, living room and back) 100 times in a row, just "because he had to." He loves to jump! He had a fun time learning new routines and spending lots of energy...he did great! (I need to borrow some of that energy...!)
