Winning Virginia

Days like today at work are so fun. HECTIC, but very fun! We were finally able announce that Corizon has won the Virginia DOC contract. It's been pending -- almost there -- contract on someone's desk -- announcement typed and ready -- waiting for final rubber stamp --whatever... since like October! So it was very fun to actually announce, and CELEBRATE the big win for our company!

I made these 20" tall letters at home  freehand"scrapbook style" to hang on the wall.

DID YOU KNOW...that Virginia is famous for:

HAM * PEANUTS * WINE

Well, they are! So we served all the above at our celebration party. Folks were most surprised about the WINE. Not because we had it again so soon (see post HERE ), but because nobody thinks of Virginia as the NAPA VALLEY of choice! HA! We also had non-alcoholic wine...

So, anyway, we had it catered by the fabulous "Puffy Muffin," and as always, the food was delicious!

 

Fruit trays, ham rolls, balloons and "Virginia Peanut" cups (we made the labels).

Several months ago, when all these new contracts were still in the pipeline, Jon said if we won them, he would do CARTWHEELS down the hall...but when it came down to it -- he admitted he couldn't do a cartwheel without BODILY INJURY. So he asked someone else to do it for him -- Ashley Borders agreed. At the end, Rich (CEO) said "Yeah, leave it to the BD guy, he sells it and then can't deliver the goods...!" HAAA! The crowd loved it! And so that led to Jon  being a good sport and trying to redeem himself by doing a very feeble sommersault.
