Twain Town

On our way to Nauvoo in July, we left after work and stopped in Hannibal, Missouri, to spend the night. Of course, we started with dinner at Longhorn, because they have Sam's favorite: RIBS!

We stopped here because it's Mark Twain's birthplace, and we wanted to see some of the sights there. One of the places we went was "Lover's Leap," which is sort of a Romeo & Juliet story of a young Indian maiden in love with a warrior, and since they could never be together, they leapt together off the mountain. Cheerful story...

Steve LOVES trains! He has a collection of N Scale trains that he plans to assemble into a whole town someday. There was a train store there that had a little Lionel Train Museum off to the side, and we spent a good amount of time looking at all the train stuff. We even found a little wooden train gift for Colton & Rogan.

Then, it was on the road to Nauvoo...!
