It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like...

On Thanksgiving weekend, and before, and ever since, we've been getting our Christmas decorations up. I love this time of year! [This year, Steve started extra early with his cleaning. He stripped and waxed the kitchen and master bathroom, and of course cleaned all the carpets and furniture. I just wish we could get rid of the clutter -- but that's secondary to him. As long as we move the clutter and make sure the floors and walls are clean, he's good. Hmmm...we look at "cleaning" differently...but I digress...]

Grayson and Sam surprised Steve by putting up the tree when he wasn't here so he wouldn't have to. And they did it willingly and cheerfully -- it was great!

Then they helped me decorate it (okay, not quite so willingly and cheerfully), and now it looks very pretty, all our family favorite ornaments and trimmings...LOVE IT!

And, of course, I got my "It's A Wonderful Life" village up. All of this stuff is basically the same each year, and makes for great tradition! See more HERE and HERE and know that looks basically the same!

So we're in the midst of a WRAPPING FRENZY now, trying to get everything under the tree, or shipped where it needs to go.

Please notice above, in the 2nd photo of this collage, Steve built a wrapping paper station...it's where you put the paper in the spindle thing, and then measure and pull, and it cuts it. Yes, he's quite the GADGET GURU. It's supposed to save us all kinds of time and frustration cutting paper...which I didn't realize was an issue, but we'll see...
