Thanksgiving weekend, we started putting up our Christmas decorations. It's always with great anticipation that we start the season -- I can't wait to break out the Christmas music, and generally listen to nothing else until mid-January! It's a lot of work(!) though, and the boys initially have to be talked into helping with everything. So, we put on the Temptations Christmas CD, which they like, as well as a couple of others. Once they get going, they get into the Spirit, too...
I knew that Steve went out last year after Christmas and bought a new pre-lit tree, because ours hadn't worked for the past couple of years, and some of the branches were broken. But I did NOT know that he bought a TWELVE-FOOT tree! So that was a new challenge, and one that we even had to use our new ladder for to reach! I had to buy different ribbon, and we used more of our tree decorations than usual getting it all spruced up -- but the finished product was indeed beautiful!
It takes a few days to get everything decorated inside and outside, but it is soooo nice to sit and enjoy when it's all done...all the lights off, quiet Christmas music playing in the background, "settling our heads for a long winter's nap..."
Our Nebraskans arrived on Tuesday, December 18th for the holidays...we were so anxious for them to come, and excited to spend time with them!
Chris says they often do "Family Dance" where everybody listens to music and ROCKS OUT! They haven't been able to capture on film, because the boys won't do it when they can tell they're being filmed...well, GRAMMY was sneaky and captured some CUTE footage!
In this segment, they are listening to music on Chris' phone, starting in "SLOW MOTION," anticipating when the music changes and then they start dancing FAST! LOVE their intensity and facial expressions!
