BATMANIA

As you know, Sam is obsessed with BATMAN -- well, actually he is in the preparatory stages to BECOME Batman. He is working on all the moves, knowledge, and save-the-world powers to step into those superhero shoes when the time comes...which he believes will happen.

So, of course, his choice for his 13th birthday celebration included a pizza party sleepover with his buddies who appreciate his obsession.

This AMAZING "Batman Gotham City" cake was made by the fabulous Aimee Paturno, our cake-making queen!

When we woke up the next morning, I was making pancakes and we discovered Daniel was not there. I didn't have his Dad's phone#, and Sam kept trying to text and call his cell phone, but no answer. We were trying the phone book, on-line, etc. trying to find his dad and make sure he was okay. Did he get sick? Call his dad? Did he leave on his own? Did he go somewhere besides home? His skateboard was still on the front porch...I was getting a little freaked, and wondering if his dad was going to show up on my porch at noon with the other parents looking for his son! After about 90 minutes of looking, calling, wondering, Daniel finally texted Sam back and said he had gotten sick in the night, so he called his dad and went home. He said he left a note, so nobody would be worried. Ya think?! Sam went upstairs and found the note -- that might have been a nice place to start earlier.  UGGG...that was not a fun part of the event, but glad it turned out okay. NEW HARRIS POLICY: On sleepovers, get all parents' addresses & phone#'s at dropoff.
